What do I need for visiting Bali?
Similar to the visa requirements, the documentation needed for your arrival in Bali often changes. The general requirements include: at least 6 months passport validity, visa of choice, customs declaration, tourist levy payment receipt and health declaration. What’s the best way to get around Bali?
Renting a scooter is probably the most popular way to get around the island, but it isn’t suggested for those who have never driven a scooter before. If you do rent a scooter, make sure you have the correct international driving license and always wear a helmet! Ride apps like Grab and GOJEK let you enjoy the freedom and experience of a scooter ride, but with a local driver. For longer trips to different areas of Bali, you are better off hiring a driver for a day.
Is Bali expensive?
Bali can be both expensive and affordable, based on what you want. You can find cheap and cheerful local food for a couple of dollars a meal, or ultra-luxurious fancy multi-course restaurants that rival the prices of those in huge cities. Although it isn’t a mandatory requirement for entering Bali, having good travel insurance is always a wise idea. Cover any little problems, and be prepared should something happen. It’s so much better to have the insurance and not use it than to be left in a sticky situation in a place you don’t really know.
