Best Hotels with Private Hot Tubs in Banff

    Downtown Banff

While the surrounding mountains are vast, the actual town of Banff is pretty darn small. It’s one of those one-street-wonder towns, with the main street densely packed with restaurants and boutique shops, and just a few offshoots of residential areas.

As a result, you’ll find there aren’t so many hotels in downtown Banff as one might expect. But that’s okay, because part of the appeal of visiting Banff is to disconnect from city life and be at one with nature.

For that reason, you’ll find most hotels with private tubs outside the town itself. It’s also common for hotels to advertise hot tubs, but really they are talking about jetted tubs in ensuite hotel bathrooms.

That being said, there certainly are a few extravagant properties with private tubs on an outdoor terrace or deck. Most of these tubs are located in the town’s most luxurious hotels and come at a steep price. These hotels also usually have their own spa and fitness center, featuring communal pools, jacuzzis, and saunas.

What to Look for in Hotels with Private Hot Tubs in Banff

    Lake Louise

If you’re not travelling by car, you’ll want to look for somewhere close to the town centre that’s within walking distance of boutique shops, restaurants, and bars. You could choose to stay in a ski resort village nearby, which will offer its own small ‘town-center’, and likely run shuttle busses into Banff at your request, but if you don’t have a car it might be tricky to navigate around.

Some of the more luxurious hotels are located a bit off the beaten track on private mountainside estates. Depending on what you’re looking for, these spots are great for both romantic getaways and for families and small groups, but make sure that the hotel has parking and the road is accessible in a standard vehicle (we don’t all have 4x4s!).

If you do have children and you want some adult time away from kids, look for a hotel that offers babysitting and child services. If you plan on hitting some of the best skiing in Canada, make sure your hotel can help organize ski passes for you, so you don’t have to spend time on logistics when you arrive.

There’s no shortage of incredible views in Banff. Surrounded by towering peaks and azure blue glacier lakes, you’re probably familiar with these picturesque vistas from your computer screensaver. Do yourself a favor – take advantage of these views as much as possible by staying in a hotel with mountain views!

Typically, hotels in Banff with private hot tubs have at least one on-site restaurant. Most will have more, and maybe even a bar, but if it doesn’t it’s a good idea to see if there are any top-rated restaurants nearby so you know you can have some good food at all times.
