If that sounds like your idea of a good time, congratulations – you’ve found your people. Free coffee, Netflix in the common area, a kitchenette, and earplugs on arrival — yes, because if you’re a princess like me, you might need ’em.

- The location is unbeatable. Absolute central of Coron Town, with restaurants, tour operators, the port, and the market all within a few minutes on foot.
- The vibe is social without being forced. The lively atmosphere (and a couple beers) will do that to you.

If you’re planning early morning dive boats or need eight hours of uninterrupted sleep to function as a human being, maybe look elsewhere. Tucked into a quiet residential subdivision a short walk from the centre of Coron Town, it’s small (just 13 rooms) and exactly the quiet and chill base you might be looking for if you’re social battery is at 0.

- The owner is a legend. She knows every boat captain, tour operator, and tricycle driver in Coron personally, and she treats sorting your logistics VERY seriously.
- The dorms don’t feel like dorms. They’re HUGE and designed specifically for comfort in mind – it’s a serious home away from home.
- It’s super chill. If all you want after a day on a boat is some down time without a happy hour interrupting your peace, this is it.
Kaiz Hostel doesn’t have a rooftop bar. There’s no DJ, no pool, no free rum hour. What it does have is clean beds, cold AC, warm hospitality and an owner who will personally sort your boat tours, your airport transfer, and your entire Coron itinerary if you’ve rocked up clueless. Breakfast is free, filling and a wicked way to start your day if you’re prepping to spend all day on a boat. Is it the most exciting hostel in Coron? No. But exciting is overrated when you’re crawling back from a full day on the water with salt in your hair and sand in places sand has no business being. Sometimes, it’s all about getting the basics done right.

Laid-back island life in Coron feels like a hidden gem that’s still untouched by mass tourism. Because Coron isn’t as developed as other parts of the Philippines, it still has that raw, off-the-beaten-path feel that backpackers crave.
The backpacker scene here is tight-knit, with a small number of hostels that make it easy to meet people and pick their brains for some juicy insider tips for the rest of the Philippines.
