1. Rom Casa Hostel – Best Overall Hostel in Da Nang

- Dorm (mixed): From $13
- Private Room: From $29
- Address: 47 An Thuong 4 Street, Da Nang, Vietnam
Get ready for the Mac Daddy of all hostels. Rom Casa Hostel rolls up everything you would ever want out of your Southeast Asia backpacker experience and provides it all within its doors. This is my number one pick for the best hostel in Da Nang, and with many hostels in Da Nang, let me tell you why.
This quirky hostel is innovatively made up of all shipping containers, now transformed into spacious dorm rooms, a lounge. There’s a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, friendly staff, free wifi and so much more!
Why you’ll love this hostel:
- Great Hostel
- Free Wifi
- Swimming Pool
This isn’t one of the cheapest places, but with prices so low in Vietnam, it’s heavenly to plurge a bit and get something like this. The staff are so friendly and so hospitable, this is one of those hostels that are so hospitable, you’ll be hooked on the hostel life. You’ll be enamoured by your new home base, within walking distance of the beach and good nightlife – sounds like heaven, right?
The social vibes at Rom Casa Hostel are on point, so if you’re travelling solo, or just love to meet new people, this is the place. There are plenty of activities on offer which help to break the ice and get into the scene.
The beds here are pretty standard hostel spec, and sleep between four and eight people. There’s the option for a private room, too if that’s your jam. The Da Nang International Airport is just a 16 minute drive away too so this is the perfect first base if you ask me.
2. The Backpacker Hostel & Spa – Best Hostel for Solo Travellers in Da Nang

- Dorm (mixed): From $7
- Private Room: From $21
- Address: 27 Nguyen Dinh, Son Tra, Da Nang, Vietnam
The Backpacker Hostel & Spa is a sick spot in Da Nang to explore. The dorms are really nice, there’s good air conditioning, and the beds were very comfy and big! You also get a new towel every day, which is a nice touch when you’re somewhere so close to the beach.
While it’s not packed with hostel activities, the vibe’s great, and it’s easy to meet people, perfect for solo travellers. The pool is a lot smaller than the pictures make it look, but it’s still a great place to take a dip and watch the sunset. Plus, who cares when the beach is just a few steps (10 minutes) away?
Why you’ll love this hostel:
- Free Breakfast
- Free Wifi
- Swimming Pool
Breakfast is straight-up Banh Mi goodness, and it’s all free,e baby. They even sort out a complimentary shuttle to the Dragon Bridge so you can get to explorin’ ASAP. If bussin’ ain’t your thing, there are FREE BICYCLES, too – what the heck?!
This place is elite, and if you’re a solo female traveller, there are female-only dorms to choose from. The female dorms and the mixed dorms both sleep four to six, so they’re generally pretty quiet. Or you can cop a private room for ultimate privacy and snoozing.
The staff are super friendly (you’ll notice a theme here pretty quickly; the Vietnamese I’ve met are generally lovely) and will make you feel at home. There’s air conditioning too, which isn’t super common in my experience.
3. Kon-Tiki Da Nang Hostel – Best Cheap Hostel in Da Nang

- Dorm (mixed): From $7
- Private Room: From $13
- Address: 12 Trieu Viet Vuong, An Hai Tay, Son Tra, Da Nang, Vietnam
Get the cheapest beds in time without sacrificing comfort when staying at Kon-Tiki Da Nang Hostel. This hostel is so much more than the best value in all of Da Nang. Kon-Tiki boasts a breathtaking terrace overlooking the city’s skyline, free breakfast, and even a large TV in the bar.
On top of everything else, the staff put extra effort into keeping the hostel immaculate and making travellers feel welcome. This isn’t the cheapest hostel in Da Nang, but the freebies and comfort that come with it make it the most desirable. Remember, even when you’re backpacking on a budget, you still gotta be comfortable.
Why you’ll love this hotel
- Air Conditioning
- Central Location
- Free Wifi
You’re within walking distance of all the sights and sounds of Da Nang at this hostel, and being in a central location means saving money, baby! Remember, there might be a couple of dollars difference between the average price and the cheapest price, but this is significant to the local people. So clock up some steps to save some cash, but be gentle when you’re haggling for souvenirs.
When you’re broke backpacking, every cent counts, I feel that and with free cancellation with 72 hours’ notice… You’ve got nothing to risk here. Not only is there free breakfast, but there is free internet and free computers to use, so you can leave the laptop at home. Save cash with less luggage and save the hassle of carrying it around – smart.

We’ve tested countless backpacks over the years, but there’s one that has always been the best and remains the best buy for adventurers: the broke backpacker-approved Osprey Aether and Ariel series.

- Dorm (mixed): From $8
- Private Room: From $22
- Address: 93 Hoang Ke Viem, Bac My Phu, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang, Vietnam
Outpost is the ultimate social hub, perfect for mingling with fellow budget travellers and expats. The location is unbeatable, and the vibe is absolutely spot on. Their pub quiz is an absolute riot – easily the most fun I’ve had on a night out in ages. The staff, especially the owners, go all out to make your stay epic.
The entire ground floor is a massive social playground, with a bar, pool table, flat screens, beer pong, board games, and more. If that doesn’t pull you into the action, their daily events and activities definitely will – boredom’s not an option here. The bar area feels like a proper beer garden, if you’re after a party, this place has got you covered.
Why you’ll love this hostel:
- Free Wifi
- Central Location
- Close to Khe Beach
The dorms are clean, comfy, and perfect for recovering from the night before. The dorms sleep eight people, so nothing too hectic or too noisy when you do need some shut-eye. There’s a female-only dorm and a private room option, and the bunks have curtains so there’s privacy, no matter what type of room you choose.
The staff here are super friendly and will help you with anything you need. There’s a free breakfast on offer here, which is always a treat, and if you want some pre-game food, there’s a bar and a restaurant onsite, too. If you’ve got a bit of backpacking admin to catch up on, the showers are hot and there are laundry facilities as well.
5. Lighthouse Da Nang Hostel – Best Hostel for Digital Nomads in Da Nang

- Dorm (mixed): From $7
- Private Room: From $20
- Address: 54 An Thuong 2, My An, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang, Vietnam
Lighthouse Da Nang is so much more than just your average hostel. The contemporary modern art decor barely scratches the surface of what this hostel has to offer. The chill lounges and outdoor terrace give plenty of room for digital nomads as well as bloggers to spread out around the hostel.
More importantly, for those looking to get up and close with Vietnamese culture, Lighthouse Hostel actively connects travellers with the local community. This is where you culture vultures will find your people to visit the Cham Museum with, I’m sure. This is a great hostel if you’re wanting to find like-minded people, see the city and get some work done.
Why you’ll love this hostel:
- Free Wifi

- Kitchen Facilities
Lighthouse Da Nang is a great hostel to post up at and stay awhile, with friendly staff and epic amenities, it’s hard to leave. From the laundry facilities to access to a simple kitchen set up, there are enough homely bits that you can get quite comfortable here. There’s an epic restaurant onsite if you just want to keep your snacks in the fridge and have meals prepared for you; that’s also an option.
In terms of sleeping arrangements, you’re almost guaranteed to have a good sleep as there’s pretty limited capacity here. There are two dorms, each sleeps six people, one female only and one mixed, or you can choose a private room. One of the private rooms also has a balcony, which is dreamy.
It’d be rude not to mention that you’re smack in the middle of My Khe Beach and My An Beach, too. Perfect for a decompressing beach walk after work!

Stash your cash safely with this money belt. It will keep your valuables safely concealed, no matter where you go.
It looks exactly like a normal belt except for a SECRET interior pocket perfectly designed to hide a wad of cash, a passport photocopy or anything else you may wish to hide. Never get caught with your pants down again! (Unless you want to…)

In a central location, this Da Nang hosted is simply great and lowkey looks like it’s out of a Wes Anderson film. Or is that just me? It’s how you choose to look at it, folks! There is free filtered mineral water which is a bonus as water is dank (and not the good kind) in Vietnam/SEA in general.
There’s daily housekeeping which is LUSH when you’re so sweaty in the tropical heat of Vietnam. Sujet Hotel also offers. laundry service which is efficient and cost effective. As per always, the staff are friendly and helpful and there are lockers for your shit.

It’s in an amazing location to walk around town and was easy to hire a bike through the hostel to get around quicker. The Garden Capsule Hotel

You get loads of freebies like a towel, comb, toothbrush, filtered water, and fridge access – seriously bang for your buck.
The pods lock from the inside, which is a nice touch, though the bag storage is a bit tight. It’ll fit a medium-sized bag, but don’t count on squeezing in your full luggage. It’s a cosy stopover with everything you need.
Dango Hostel

Located in the centre of the action in Da Nang, minutes away from the city’s best beaches, restaurants, and cafes. Even for those wishing to relax at the hostel, Dango has you covered with an onsite bar, cafe, and lounge areas.

FAQs About Hostels in Da Nang
Here are some questions backpackers ask about hostels in Da Nang.
What to Pack for your Da Nang Hostel
Pants, socks, underwear, soap?! Take it from me, packing for a hostel stay is not always quite as straightforward as it seems. Working out what to bring and what to leave at home is an art I have perfected over many years.
Ear Plugs
Snoring dorm-mates can ruin your nights rest and seriously damage the hostel experience. This is why I always travel with a pack of decent ear plugs.
Hanging Laundry Bag
Trust us, this is an absolute game changer. Super compact, a hanging mesh laundry bag stops your dirty clothes from stinking, you don’t know how much you need one of these… so just get it, thank us later.
Sea To Summit Micro Towel
Hostel towels are scummy and take forever to dry. Microfibre towels dry quickly, are compact, lightweight, and can be used as a blanket or yoga mat if need be.
Monopoly Deal
Forget about Poker! Monopoly Deal is the single best travel card game that we have ever played. Works with 2-5 players and guarantees happy days.
Grayl Geopress Water Bottle
Always travel with a water bottle! They save you money and reduce your plastic footprint on our planet. The Grayl Geopress acts as a purifier AND temperature regulator. Boom!

Final Thoughts on Da Nang’s Hostels
By now, I hope my epic guide to the best hostels in Da Nang has helped you choose the perfect hostel for your adventure! This Vietnamese jewel has an abundance of abandoned places for urban explorers, massive colourful markets selling anything from souvenirs to fresh fruits. What’s more, there are even relaxing beaches where you can just lie out on the beach and soak up some rays.
If you’re tossing up between a few options, I don’t blame you, there are plenty to choose from! My best advice is to book into Rom Casa Hostel – it’s my best hostel in Da Nang for a reason. Between the social vibes, the pool table and the swimming pool, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a cheap place to crash, trust me when I say your best bet is Kon-Tiki Da Nang Hostel. What they lack in being the cheapest hostel, they make up for with extra goodies, like free breakfast!
Wherever you stay, I’m sure you’ll love the bustle and the beaches of Da Nang. Make sure you check out Khe Beach and soak up that heat.
