Da Nang ended up being one of my favourite stops in Vietnam. I loved it so much I came back and stayed for a month! It’s a city where long, golden beaches meet lush green peninsulas, high‑rise hotels, and some of the best food you’ll eat in the country.
The backpacker scene in Da Nang is growing, but it is very different from the likes of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. You won’t find the chaotic, free-beer-every-night hostels, but instead, most hostels in Da Nang embrace the chilled, beach traveller vibe. The hostels tend to be cleaner, more modern and a bit more expensive.
Da Nang also has a big digital-nomad community, so a lot of hostels are set up for longer stays. They have solid Wi-Fi and a generally relaxed, homely vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a while.
In this article, I’ll take you through my favourite hostels in the city and who they are best for. Whether you’re after social energy, boujee vibes or just the cheapest bed in town. Let’s get into it!

It’s just a short walk away from My Khe Beach; you can roll out of your bed and be on the sand in a matter of minutes.

Mik Stay is known for being clean, spacious and totally chill. They go above and beyond on small touches like having ridiculously comfy beds, HUGE lockers, free toothbrushes and fresh towels. It’s the perfect “I need a little reset” hostel, either when arriving or leaving Da Nang.

- Quiet base for anyone who needs to reset or get some work done
- Away from the tourist area and nestled into local life
Tucked into a residential area near the airport, it’s the perfect spot if you’re flying in or out. But it’s also close enough that you could get a Grab (Vietnam’s version of Uber) to the beach or the Dragon Bridge.

- Close to My Khe Beach
It’s ideal for digital nomads or long-term travellers who are after a bit more comfort than your average backpacker pad. There is a cafe on-site for laptop days, and you’re just a short walk from Da Nang’s gorgeous My Khe Beach.

By now, I hope my guide to the best hostels in Da Nang has helped you choose the perfect hostel for your adventure! If you’re tossing up between a few options, I don’t blame you; there are plenty to choose from, and it does depend on what you’re after from your stay.
Overall, my best advice is to book into Rom Casa Hostel – it’s the best hostel in Da Nang for a reason. Between the social vibes, the pool table and the swimming pool, there’s something for everyone here. It’s the most “hostel-like” place in the city, with daily social events and an easy place to meet other backpackers 🙂 Wherever you end up, I hope you love this funky city!
