When I first visited Paris, I was blown away by the impressive architecture from Notre Dame, to the Louvre, to the Eiffel Tower. Walking down the streets, I enjoyed the calming ambience of the French capital. Many years later, I returned as an adult and realised that this city gets crazy after dark.
As the lights start to sparkle on the Eiffel Tower, Parisians begin to hit the bars, and the nights open up to some magical memories which make this one of THE best party destinations in Europe.
As a result, there are many awesome hostels here with buzzing bars, live DJs, and activities on offer that will have you loving every evening (and hating every morning) of your stay here.
Paris isn’t cheap, but we’re still going to share the best party hostels we’ve stayed at, so you have some awesome places to stay at next time you come here. We’ll explain in depth what makes each one so great. Let’s get into it!

The 3 Ducks is a happening sort of hostel. The atmosphere here is vibrant, alright, making it easily one of the best party hostels in Paris. For one thing, these guys boast their self-proclaimed party hostel has a “magnificent bar”, where you can enjoy backpacker-friendly prices and mingle with other guests. And I’d say it lives up to that reputation. It’s small, but a great place to kickstart your evening. It was pretty noisy though, well into the early hours, so I’d suggest taking that into account if you wanna sleep well.
The hostel itself is situated in a building that dates back to the 18th century. It’s been updated though, and today features modern interiors, bright dorms, and comfy social areas.
As well as a bar, there’s also an outdoor terrace. All good party hostels need one of these for when summer rolls around, so that’s extra points for this place. Throw in foosball tables for tipsy tournaments with newfound friends, and this hostel in Paris is a winner.

The 3 Ducks is situated in the boho 15th arrondissement in an artsy neighbourhood. Plus, as you can probably tell by the name, it’s not too far from Paris’ Eiffel Tower. It’s conveniently located for getting around; it’s right by a metro stop and Charles de Gaulle Airport is 25-minutes journey away. Restaurants and grocery stores are right around the corner, too.
I found there to be a great atmosphere here, and budget-friendly room rates (by Paris standards, it still costs a shit ton more than a 4* hotel in Central Asia), you’ll get some good perks if you choose to stay at this cheap hostel including air conditioning, luggage storage and a communal kitchen.
2. JO&JOE Paris Hostel – Gentilly – Most Unique Hostel

- Best for: Pairs, groups and solo travellers
- Highlights: The self-serve beer
- Dorm (mixed): From $57

Where do you start with a place like JO&JOE? Well, let’s begin with the obvious. If you really like drinking, then you’ll love their self-serve “beer tap system”. Literally, it’s free-flowing beer from various breweries, right into your glass, served by you. In all the Paris hostels I stayed in, this was the most unique thing I found, no other hostel had anything similar!
They also have a DJ that comes to play their funky music to guests. For more chilled fun times, there’s a large courtyard with table tennis and various hangout spaces.
Why you’ll love this place:
- The beer wall: You just order on the screen, hold your cup under the tap, and get drunk babyyyyyy
- Cocktail happy hour: Cocktails in Paris cost about as much as the entire Louvre (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration), so discounts are welcome, and you can get money off at certain hours in the evening
- Tour desk: Like any good hostel, there’s a desk here to arrange any activities around Paris with super knowledgeable staff
So, yes, it’s definitely a party hostel. But they call themselves a “social hub”, which is good for solo travellers looking to meet new friends or groups wanting to party the night away with like-minded folk. Oh, and this happens to be one of the cheapest Paris hostels, too.
This hostel is situated in Gentilly. It’s also right in front of the biggest university campus in Paris, Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paris. Because of that, it’s a lively student area where people gather for drinks and good times. It’s not super central, but the hostel is right next to the RER B line which will have you in the middle of Paris in 20 mins (and Charles de Gaulle Airport in 45).
While the so-called “beerwall” may seem like a gimmick, I’m here to say it’s absolutely not. It’s just one of the many awesome things that make this hostel a prime spot for partying in Paris. Even their hot dogs get rave reviews (honestly). I didn’t try the hot dogs personally, but a guy I met here said “they’re fucking banging mate”, so take that as an endorsement if you wish.
3. St Christopher’s Inn Gare du Nord – Best Hostel for Solo Travellers

- Best for: Party lovers
- Highlights: The bar and chillout room

Part of the St Christopher’s Inn chain of hostels, this place is more than just a reliable option. It’s a party-lover’s hostel, which comes complete with St Christopher’s classic Belushi’s bar. This is the sort of place that stays absolutely poppin’ into the early hours; It goes above and beyond “bar” status and turns into a fully-fledged nightclub, complete with DJs and a dance floor.
These guys also claim to have “Paris’ biggest happy hour”, which is always a nice thing to hear. With literally thousands of glowing reviews, it’s definitely one of the most popular places to stay in Paris for partying.
When you want to rest your weary, alcohol-infused head, you’ve got clean, modern dorms to do the trick. With free breakfast served up on-site in the hostel cafe, you won’t have to go far to cure your hangover.
Why you’ll love this place:
- In-house nightclub: There aren’t many hostels with a nightclub included, complete with DJ, but this has just that
- Beer pong: I always had fun playing beer pong with my new buddies here, just before the DJ got the party started
- Breakfast buffet: For a small fee (5 euros when I stayed, but perhaps more now) you can have a great breakfast here
Located just a few feet from Gare du Nord train station in the 10th arrondissement, exploring Paris is a breeze from this hostel. You can hop on a train and be at the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower in mere minutes. There’s always somewhere local to eat on the doorstep but, as for bars, why would you need to go anywhere else?
This place is super popular. That probably has something to do with being so close to Paris’ international train station, connecting the dots between several European countries. All you have to do is rock up on the train, tumble into the hostel, and let the good times roll! With so many events happening, it’s the best hostel for solo travellers. A party hostel through and through.
4. Generator Paris – Best Hostel For Playing Games

- Best for: Bougie backpackers
- Highlights: The stylish aesthetic, and tours on offer here
- Dorm (mixed): From $53
- Private Room: From $215
- Address: 9-11 Place du Colonel Fabien, Paris
Like the previous hostel, this place is also part of a franchise. But this is much more of a chic party hostel option in Paris, you know, for those who like things a little more sophisticated. It’s a boutique place to party, packed full of stylish spaces that’ll suit the most discerning backpacker and fun-loving, Instagram-attuned traveller alike.
It’s got a cool little cafe space, a laid-back lounge, and perhaps coolest of all, a rooftop bar where you can sip sunset cocktails with incredible views of the city. There’s also an incredible underground nightclub if you’re interested.
You’ll get to enjoy a bit of affordable luxury here, from the low-priced dorms, all the way to the premium private rooms (complete with their own terraces with deck chairs).
Why you’ll love this place:
- Gaming facilities: I played some ping pong, pool and foosball during my stay here, it’s a great way to socialise
- Laundry facilities: It saved me a lot of hassle being able to wash clothes here – it’s self-service though
- Underground club: There’s a nightclub underneath the hostel – rooms are on the upper floors so it shouldn’t ruin your sleep
Situated in the 10th arrondissement, you’ll be able to enjoy all the art galleries, cool cafes and thrift shopping in Canal Saint-Martin, a cool neighbourhood just a short walk away. The large Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a 15-minute stroll away from the hostel, as well as the Gare du Nord. In terms of getting around and visiting Paris’ top attractions, just hop on the metro from the nearby station.
It may not be as sociable (or wild) as St Christopher’s Inn at Gare du Nord, despite regular DJs coming in, but Generator Paris still packs a punch in terms of party credentials. With its weekly events program, underground club and rooftop bar, there’s much to love about this chic spot.
5. Les Piaules – Best Hostel for Craft Beer Lovers

- Best for: Solo Travellers and friends
- Highlights: The games room and social vibes
- Dorm (mixed): From $67

The perfect places to base your travels in Paris, Les Piaules is run by travellers for travellers, so these guys know what’s up. Its reputation is backed up by a host of great reviews. Needless to say, we really loved it and would say it lives up to rhose reviews.
It’s easy to see why. Throughout there are a whole load of trendy areas to hang out in, from the beautiful on-site bar serving up local beers, all the way to the rooftop terrace that boasts insane views of Paris. There is even a games room, and a cosy lounge for some chilled downtime.
With all these spaces, there’s plenty of opportunities to get to know your fellow guests. It’s a friendly, sociable place, with a fun and easygoing atmosphere. We met friends here who we’re still in touch with today.
Why you’ll love this place:
- The craft beers: They serve locally brewed craft beers here, which isn’t something I’ve found in other Paris hostels
- The cafe: In the morning, you’re gonna need perking up after a few too many beers, so the on-site cafe was the perfect remedy for the late and wild nights
- Live music: This was a nice touch that really added to the atmosphere
Located in the centre of boho Belleville, you’ll be at the heart of a particularly party-loving neighbourhood. The vibes are cosmopolitan, with various bars, cafes and restaurants. For adventures further afield, Belleville metro station is just 50 metres away from the hostel.
As well as being one of the coolest party hostels in Paris, this place also happens to be situated in a historic Art Deco-style building. Combined with its designer interiors and the location in trendy Belleville, it’s an interesting alternative to many of the other party places on this list.
