With mystifying lochs, sweeping countryside, vast heaths, and dramatic coastline, Scotland is a nature lovers delight. Though part of the United Kingdom, Scotland has its own unique charm. Whether you’re visiting the isles or the mountains, the scenery will blow you away (and not just because it’s windy).

Scotland draws many visitors wishing to gaze upon the historic castles, venture out on the best hiking trails, and sail around the lochs.

But while this landscape is gorgeous, it’s no secret that Scotland can get very chilly, and there is no better way to escape the cold than by soaking in a bubbling hot tub.

Best Hotels with Hot Tubs in Scotland

    where to stay in Edinburgh

In most cases, hotels with private hot tubs are typically super expensive. This is even more true in the UK, where currency value is high, and pretty much everything is overpriced. Luckily for you, I found the best hotels with hot tubs in Scotland to be super well priced for what they offer.

However, while classic suites with in-room Jacuzzis are definitely affordable compared to hotels in cities in England, the best hot tubs can be found in luxurious hotels that offer separate vacation rentals, such as cottages, lodges, and villas. With these kinds of hotels, it’s not difficult to find a room with an outdoor terrace and a hot tub with a view.

Some hotels are located off the beaten track in the remote Scottish highlands and isles, after all, this is part of the charm of visiting Scotland. Though remote, these hotels are typically five-star properties with all the amenities and facilities you could dream of. Luckily, you can expect on-site restaurants at all the hotels and they may even have their own spas, wellness centers, and gyms.

Views are abundant in the Scottish highlands, and these luxury hotels are typically designed to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. An abundance of space, extensive gardens and grounds, and free parking can also be expected at most hotels.

What to Look for in Hotels with Private Hot Tubs in Scotland

    West Highland Line, Scotland

If you’re visiting Scotland to explore the moors, isles, and highlands, traveling with your own vehicle is a must. If you bring a car, make sure you find a hotel with free (or at least affordable) parking on site. Luckily, free parking is a common feature in most remote hotels.

If you’re visiting for a relaxing vacation, there are tons of luxurious spa hotels with hot tubs in Scotland’s countryside. Those traveling with young kids would benefit from two-bedroom suites, cottages, and lodges, which are also readily available across the region.

Depending on where you stay in Scotland, you might need to consider the roads nearby. Some remote locations have rough terrain and dirt roads which might require a 4×4. Even where roads are tarred, potholes are common in far-flung Scottish locations. So, at the very least, come prepared with a spare tire!

Of course, if you’re only visiting cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, you could easily get around using public transportation and cabs. If a city vacation is on the cards, choose a hotel in a central and walkable location close to major attractions and public transport lines. This way, you won’t have to spend too much time and money transiting from A to B.
