With mystifying lochs, sweeping countryside, vast heaths, and dramatic coastline, Scotland is a nature lovers delight. Though part of the United Kingdom, Scotland has its own unique charm. Whether you’re visiting the isles or the mountains, the scenery will blow you away (and not just because it’s windy).

Scotland draws many visitors wishing to gaze upon the historic castles, venture out on the best hiking trails, and sail around the lochs.

But while this landscape is gorgeous, it’s no secret that Scotland can get very chilly, and there is no better way to escape the cold than by soaking in a bubbling hot tub.

Sound good right? If you’re looking for hotels with hot tubs in Scotland but don’t know where to start. Don’t worry. I’m here to show you what you can expect from hot tub hotels in Scotland as well as show you the best ones!

Best Hotels with Hot Tubs in Scotland

    where to stay in Edinburgh

In most cases, hotels with private hot tubs are typically super expensive. This is even more true in the UK, where currency value is high, and pretty much everything is overpriced. Luckily for you, I found the best hotels with hot tubs in Scotland to be super well priced for what they offer.

However, while classic suites with in-room Jacuzzis are definitely affordable compared to hotels in cities in England, the best hot tubs can be found in luxurious hotels that offer separate vacation rentals, such as cottages, lodges, and villas. With these kinds of hotels, it’s not difficult to find a room with an outdoor terrace and a hot tub with a view.

Some hotels are located off the beaten track in the remote Scottish highlands and isles, after all, this is part of the charm of visiting Scotland. Though remote, these hotels are typically five-star properties with all the amenities and facilities you could dream of. Luckily, you can expect on-site restaurants at all the hotels and they may even have their own spas, wellness centers, and gyms.

Views are abundant in the Scottish highlands, and these luxury hotels are typically designed to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. An abundance of space, extensive gardens and grounds, and free parking can also be expected at most hotels.

What to Look for in Hotels with Private Hot Tubs in Scotland

    West Highland Line, Scotland

If you’re visiting Scotland to explore the moors, isles, and highlands, traveling with your own vehicle is a must. If you bring a car, make sure you find a hotel with free (or at least affordable) parking on site. Luckily, free parking is a common feature in most remote hotels.

If you’re visiting for a relaxing vacation, there are tons of luxurious spa hotels with hot tubs in Scotland’s countryside. Those traveling with young kids would benefit from two-bedroom suites, cottages, and lodges, which are also readily available across the region.

Depending on where you stay in Scotland, you might need to consider the roads nearby. Some remote locations have rough terrain and dirt roads which might require a 4×4. Even where roads are tarred, potholes are common in far-flung Scottish locations. So, at the very least, come prepared with a spare tire!

Of course, if you’re only visiting cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, you could easily get around using public transportation and cabs. If a city vacation is on the cards, choose a hotel in a central and walkable location close to major attractions and public transport lines. This way, you won’t have to spend too much time and money transiting from A to B.

If you’re looking for the most beautiful hotel in Scotland with private hot tubs, look no further. Lochside House Hotel and Spa is set right on the banks of Loch of the Lowes and boasts incredible countryside views in every direction you look.

The hotel used to be an old shooting lodge and has since been refurbished with elegant contemporary interiors. The Cottage Suites are freestanding rooms that each have a private terrace and outdoor hot tub.

I highly recommend spending an afternoon at the spa, which offers a full range of treatments and a gorgeous relaxation pool.

1BR Suite at Isle of Eriska Hotel Spa and Golf

As the name suggests, Isle of Eriska Hotel Spa and Golf offers elegant five-star accommodation with spa and gold facilities. The hotel has a restaurant, 24-hour reception, room service, and offers free parking on site.

If a low-cost holiday is all you can afford, stick to your budget and stay in the Beaufort Hotel in Inverness. Not only will you be located only a short walk to Inverness Castle, Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, and the Caledonian Canal, but you’ll be near a bunch of restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel also has an on-site bar and restaurant serving traditional Scottish food.

The hotel offers comfortable rooms equipped with a TV and tea and coffee facilities. However, the best room in the house is the Executive Double Room, which has a spacious bathroom with a round jetted tub large enough to fit two guests. This is the perfect place to stay in Inverness for those on a budget.

Budget Tip: Dorms in Scotland start from $10USD per bed. They’re the cheapest accommodation in the city. Search for hostels in the area!

Coziest Hotel in Scotland – Hot Tub Suite at Claremont House

Hot Tub Suite at Claremont House

Nothing quite says ‘cozy’ like a boutique family-run hotel with a homey atmosphere. Set in a Victorian house in a residential neighborhood in Edinburgh, Claremont House is surrounded by lush gardens and offers easy access into central Edinburgh

All the rooms have been refurbished with a blend of eclectic and contemporary interiors and are spotlessly clean. Natural light flows throughout the Hot Tub Suite, which has a quirky coastal-themed bathroom with a large jetted tub.

A continental breakfast is served in the dining room each morning, and guests can take advantage of the homey drawing-room during their stay too.

Best Spa Retreat Hotel – Retreat Suite w/ Hot Tub at Isle of Mull Hotel

Retreat Suite w/ Hot Tub at Isle of Mull Hotel

Are you visiting Scotland for the whole spa retreat experience? Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa is one of the top hotels with hot tubs in Scotland, with a high-end spa and wellness center on-site.

Located by the ferry terminal and beach, ocean views are this place’s biggest asset (on top of the spa). The entire hotel is super modern, built with sleek glass features throughout. Book out the Retreat Suite and enjoy a soak in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the isles for a real treat.

Not only is the hotel home to a world-class spa, but it also houses an incredible restaurant that serves some of the most beautifully plated food you can imagine. This is THE spot for a full luxury experience!

Best Hot Tub Hotel for Business Travelers – Junior Suite at The Busby Hotel

Junior Suite at The Busby Hotel

With conference rooms and facilities for over 100 delegates, The Busby Hotel is perfectly set up for business meetings and conferences. Set on the main street of Clarkson, just a short drive from the heart of Glasgow and the airport, it’s well located for a meeting stopover.

The Junior Suite at this hotel with Jacuzzis in Scotland is spacious and well equipped, with a private sitting area and a large desk space where you can easily set up a home office. After a long day of meetings and social events, head to your ensuite bathroom for a soak in the indulgent Jacuzzi tub.

Most Historic Hotel in Scotland – Suite a Lynnhurst Hotel

    Suite a Lynnhurst Hotel

Scotland is overrun with historic castles, Victorian manors, and Georgian townhouses. This Georgian house is set on a large property outside the heart of Glasgow and will make you feel like you’ve taken a step back in time.

The antique interiors have all the charm of the original building, with added modern amenities and comforts. The rooms are stylishly decorated and fitted with all the facilities you might need for your stay, including complimentary toiletries and a mini bar.

The Suite has a private sitting area, a regal-looking bed, and an ensuite bathroom with double vanity sinks and a jetted hot tub.

Hotel with the Best Views – Suite w/ Hot Tub at Bayswell Park Hotel

Suite w/ Hot Tub at Bayswell Park Hotel

With its moors, locks, and isles, Scotland has no shortage of beautiful views. However, if you’re after a hot tub with exquisite ocean views, Bayswell Park Hotel will exceed all expectations.

Although it’s at the bottom of the list, this is probably one of my favorite hotels with hot tubs in Scotland. Located on the coastline, the Suite in mention has a private gated terrace with a large outdoor hot tub and direct access to the beachfront.

The room isn’t too shabby either, with elegant high ceilings, contemporary furniture, and high-quality linens. Can you think of a better way to start a day than with a fresh cup of coffee in a bubbling tub by the seaside?
