This budget hostel in Nelson is literally sat on the waterfront and occupies a restored 120-year-old customs house, which we think is pretty darn cool. And you will too if you like history and heritage and stuff like that.
It’s close to the beach and in walking distance to the city centre, meaning you get the best of both worlds. Soooo… it might not be the cleanest place ever, and the staff might not always be on their A-game (i.e. they’re sometimes AWOL), but the location is sick and the onsite bar is decent.
