Here Hostel Bangkok was the first hostel I stayed at when I arrived in this bright city. And even though I woke up at 4 a.m. to Brits having sex in my dorm, I still give it a 10/10 rating (hear me out guys – this is a GREAT hostel).
Apart from the dorm drama, from the minute I checked in, I was in for a backpacker’s paradise. You might be thinking, what exactly qualifies it as a backpacker’s paradise?
Let me paint the picture for you.
10+ dorm rooms including private rooms, a yoga deck, a huge pool with jungle feels, a cafe, and a kitchen; this isn’t even half of it. The facilities here made me feel like I booked a five-star hotel. They even have 10+ bathrooms and shower stalls that are so comfy, you forget you are in a hostel. For $15 a night, this is a steal of a stay.

Getting to Know Here Hostel
Here Hostel is hidden on a corner of old town Bangkok, and full of surprises. When my tuk-tuk dropped me off, I had him wait because I didn’t think the sketchy corner was promising. Boy was I wrong.
Backpacking Bangkok is a traveler’s dream. The facilities, and layout of this place are unreal. You come to the hostel and can wash your clothes, hang them, take a dip in the pool, and hang out in the garden for dinner with live music.
As I mentioned earlier, my first night in Bangkok hostel story, ended up having a happy ending since the hostel has a 24-hour reception. It was a good night’s sleep for me, and my jet legs. You don’t often stroll to the front desk at 5 a.m. at a hostel in Thailand, and be helped. So, I was BEYOND grateful.

Here Hostel is located a 10-minute walk from the Khao San Road madness (a blessing, and a curse). And even though it’s technically in a party district, this hostel felt like a breath of fresh air. The garden, and yoga deck are what kept me zen during my stay.
Apart from being near some of the best things to do in Bangkok, Here Hostel has its own banging social scene. The connecting cafe often hosts pub crawls and karaoke nights. The BEST thing to look for in a hostel, if you are traveling solo, is a good social scene. And this place checks all the boxes.
My favorite thing about the hostel is the location. It is really close to all the cool things but still kind of hidden. You don’t hear music at night, and the hostel follows an 11 pm ‘no noise’ rule, which makes it a great stop for staying in Bangkok.

If you are on a Bangkok backpacking trip, and are looking for the best hostel in town look no further. This place has my wholehearted Broke backpacking blessing. A for value, A- for Comfort, and A+ for the GOOD, GOOD vibes.
To be honest, when I came to Here Hostel I had a moment in my travels where I didn’t want to be solo. I was yearning for friendships and shared experiences. My cup was full after my stay.
