On my exit, after three months of backpacking Portugal, I stayed at The LX Hostel Lisbon. I only booked one night because I planned on checking out a few different hostels in Lisbon, but ended up extending my stay because of how much I loved it! (The typical backpacker love story).

From the minute I arrived, I was greeted by smiley faces and warm welcomes already giving me a sigh of relief that I made a good choice by booking this stay. On theme with the rooftop bar that is a part of the hostel, they even offered me a welcome shot and a free sangria upon check-in. They started off strong: a GOOD first impression!

I truly stand by this being the best hostel in Lisbon, and even in all of Portugal… So let’s dive into what makes LX Factory Hostel in Lisbon a real gem for backpackers in Europe.

Something the LX Hostel takes pride in is the yummy breakfast included when you book your stay. Now when I say breakfast, I’m talking cereal, tea, pancakes, fruits, toast, and eggs, family-style, prepared for morning chatter.

This is where your plans for exploring Lisbon evolve and friendships are created. I really haven’t had another experience like it since.

I think one of the things that makes a good hostel is how they bring travelers together. Is LX Lisbon a place where people come as strangers and leave family? Yess!!!

Apart from the brekky, every evening you will see people cozying up in the common space playing board games or picking up the hostel guitar and singing tunes. This made me feel so at home…

I can think of SO many reasons to love this hostel. Let’s break down a few:

    • Free breakfast… yum
    • Free sangria!!
    • A rooftop bar – to enjoy said sangria
    • Comfortable beds
    • Immaculate vibes 🙂
    • and a really cute doggie.

You really can’t ask for more from a hostel. Plus, the location is PRIME!

If you’re looking for digital nomad-friendly hostels too, LX Factory is ideal. I’m telling you, freelancing is yin-yang when you’re living in hostels. But here… it is all yin.

Located in the heart of the LX district, you won’t be bored during your stay.

The location of this hostel if you’re backpacking Portugal is amazing. The trains and buses are within walking distance, making it easy to get anywhere in the city.

There is a pop-up market every Sunday on the same street as the hostel, with tons of small businesses and homemade goodies. And you can expect a BOOMING nightlife with live music to top it off.

The LX district is really one of the main attractions in Lisbon. With shops, restaurants, and bars to choose from, this area of the city can take a few days to unravel.

It even has a bookstore just a walk away. This is always the highlight of my travels… Finding a good bookstore. 🙂

The LX offers dorms for 6-12 people. They also offer private rooms. With the curtains and spaciousness of the dorm beds, you won’t even think twice about booking a shared room!

With free breakfast included, this hostel really offers backpackers a great deal. Given the cost of living in Portugal these prices are amazing!

    • Dorm € 25 – 50
    • Private room € 100+

    Do I Recommend LX Hostel?

Absolutely! For amazing comfort and good vibes, I give it an A+.

Every time I go to Lisbon, I make sure to book this hostel. Although every experience is so unique it’s always a good time. 🙂

This time around, I brought a friend along to stay at the LX Factory Lisbon – and it was his first time EVER staying at a hostel. He was definitely pampered with a very comfortable stay and has high expectations for the rest of his hostel days.

Solo traveling can be intimidating. Leaving your comfort zone for new experiences and adventures is really inspiring.

I always find so much appreciation in hostels that make my experience as comfortable as they can. It is that little push to keep me going, leaving me feeling on top of the world.

Thank you LX Hostel for giving me the subtle push to continue my travels. I hope it does the same to everyone who decides to stay!
