#2 Niagara Falls Centre – Where to Stay in Niagara Falls on a Budget

Niagara Falls centre has a greater city feel than its neighbor Clifton Hill. It is a bit quieter and less touristy, which means it also has cheaper accommodation to offer!

One of the main attractions in Niagara Falls Centre is the White Water Walk, a boardwalk that allows you to get really close to a part of the river where powerful rapids flow. It is for sure an impressive sight to see and is not to be missed on a sunny day. The boardwalk is accessed by taking an elevator down 70 meters, followed by a tunnel carved in the rock.

For history lovers, the Niagara Military Museum is an interesting place to learn more about the military history of the Niagara region. The museum is housed in the old city armoury and displays artefacts. Escape room games are also available in the basement of the museum and are the perfect entertainment for kids while the adults take their time to visit.

#4 Chippawa – Coolest Place to Stay in Niagara Falls

Chippawa is a quiet neighborhood tucked away from the main action in Niagara Falls but still located within reasonable distance from the waterfalls.

Chippawa is a historic neighborhood originally built by the French and was a prime battle location during the War of 1812, due to its border location with the United States. The bloodiest fights occurred in 1814 during the Niagara Campaign, and the original battlefield can still be visited today.

The Chippawa neighborhood is also a sight in itself, lined with nice parks and historic houses. Go for a walk around and relax from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Niagara Falls and its hordes of tourists.

If you are traveling with kids, head for a day out in Marineland, an aquatic zoo hosting the largest collection of beluga whales – which are native to Canada – in the world. Marineland also houses an aquatic and amusement park with many fun rides and slides.
