    Niagara Falls is located in Ontario, Canada, and is the main city near the world-famous Niagara Falls. While many come and stop here just to go see the waterfalls, the city actually has a lot more to offer.

    Clifton Hill is the main touristy neighbourhood in Niagara Falls. The area is also called the street of fun and offers a lot of attractions for the whole family. There, expect to find a ferris wheel, tons of restaurant, affordable hotels and even mini golf. Clifton Hill is a great place to stay for your first time in Niagara Falls as it is located within walking distance from the waterfalls.

    The true town centre is located in Niagara Falls Centre. This is where the train station and the main city amenities are located, and also where you will find most hotels in Niagara Falls. Every budget is represented, and for that reason, Niagara Falls centre is a very popular area to stay in.

    If you are looking for something a bit more upscale, Fallsview Boulevard is your place to go. It is also a great place for nightlife as the Fallsview Casino Resort is located in this neighbourhood and provides round the clock entertainment. One of my favourite things about Fallsview Boulevard though is the fact that you can book a hotel room directly overlooking the horseshoe fall, the most famous of Niagara Falls!

    Tucked away from the main bustle Chippawa is full of history, quieter than most areas of town, and still within a reasonable distance from the main attractions. If you’re keen on an relaxing trip, why not change up the type of accommodation? To get the full experience, hop on the legendary Maid of the Mist and get closer to the roaring water as you would ever have imagined.

    Once you are back in Clifton Hill, enjoy the many attractions the neighbourhood has to offer. These include the Skywheel, a 175-meter tall ferris wheel from where you will get a great view over the city and the waterfalls.

    #2 Niagara Falls Centre – Where to Stay in Niagara Falls on a Budget

    One of the main attractions in Niagara Falls Centre is the White Water Walk, a boardwalk that allows you to get really close to a part of the river where powerful rapids flow. It is for sure an impressive sight to see and is not to be missed on a sunny day. The boardwalk is accessed by taking an elevator down 70 meters, followed by a tunnel carved in the rock.

    For history lovers, the Niagara Military Museum is an interesting place to learn more about the military history of the Niagara region. The museum is housed in the old city armoury and displays artefacts. Escape room games are also available in the basement of the museum and are the perfect entertainment for kids while the adults take their time to visit.

    Fallsview Boulevard provides great entertainment around the clock thanks to the Fallsview Casino. On top of classic gambling, the Fallsview Casino offers live entertainment in its in-house club as well as world-class productions in the theatre.

    Located at the base of the Horseshoe Fall, Journey Behind the Falls lets you explore tunnels carved in the bedrocks of the falls and get a unique view from behind the fall. Do not forget to get yourself a poncho as you will most likely get wet on this journey!

    #4 Chippawa – Coolest Place to Stay in Niagara Falls

    Chippawa is a quiet neighbourhood tucked away from the main action in Niagara Falls but still located within reasonable distance from the waterfalls.

    Chippawa is a historic neighbourhood originally built by the French and was a prime battle location during the War of 1812, due to its border location with the United States. The bloodiest fights occurred in 1814 during the Niagara Campaign, and the original battlefield can still be visited today.

    The Chippawa neighbourhood is also a sight in itself, lined with nice parks and historic houses. Go for a walk around and relax from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Niagara Falls and its hordes of tourists.

    If you are traveling with kids, head for a day out in Marineland, an aquatic zoo hosting the largest collection of beluga whales – which are native to Canada – in the world. Marineland also houses an aquatic and amusement park with many fun rides and slides.

In addition, the main sight of the city, the Niagara Falls, are only located a short drive away.

    Lots of different shops are lining up Lundy’s Lane, but for a real bargain head out to the Canada One Outlets. There, you will find premium outlet shopping with heavily discounted name brands. If you are a shopping lover, it would be a shame to miss that!

    Lundy’s Lane is also famous for its dining experience, as a lot of fine restaurants and places serving delicious local food can be found here. For a different experience, try having dinner while watching a musical at the iconic Oh Canada Eh venue.
