Visiting Tromsø was an unforgettable adventure, one that totally blew me away. Honestly, I am not usually one for cold climates, my natural habitat is swinging awkwardly in a hammock from two palm trees whilst trying not to spill coconut juice on myself! So a trip above the Arctic Circle was highly anticipated.

The moment I stepped off the plane, I was greeted by crisp, invigorating Arctic air that blasted away any preconceptions I had of this incredible place. Surrounded by snowcapped peaks and wishing I’d packed more thermal undies, I was about to embark on the most incredible trip.

Let’s be honest, there’s no sight quite like the northern lights. Just that alone made freezing my tits off through the long night worthwhile enough! But wait, there’s more (channelling my inner infomercial!) Whilst they are a big hit in the winter, as they should be, there is a huge variety of things to do at different times of the year.

Despite its relatively small size, there are only around 75,000 people living there. It’s a popular place for travellers to visit. That’s why there are some great Tromso accommodation options for you to choose from.

To help you choose between all the best places to stay in Tromso, I’ve created this list so you can find a bed at every budget point and in different parts of the city. Whether you’re looking for the best hotels in Downtown Tromsø or budget hotel rooms with a hot tub, read on to discover more.
