Less crowded than some of the other seaside cities in Spain and just as beautiful, Santander is a paradise. With white sand beaches and history stretching back centuries. Heaven!

Every day you will be torn between spreading out your towel and soaking up the sun or exploring some of Santander’s cultural heritage. With hiking trails and palaces, Santander is a place that will take weeks to fully explore.

Some of the obvious appeal of Santander is the fact that it is a bit off of the tourist trail in Spain. Sadly this also means that you will find a LACK of backpackers hostels along the stunning beaches and city center. Unable to find a cheap dorm bed, many travelers will call it quits just after one google search.

Don’t throw in the towel just yet! I’ve made finding a budget stay in Santander a breeze with my one-stop guide to the best hostels in Santander. I’ve pulled these together in one place, you will be able to find that hostel that fits your budget and how you like to travel.
