Is Angkor Wat worth visiting?
Absolutely. Angkor Wat is the star of the show, but don't stop there. The wider Angkor complex is enormous, with ancient temples, jungle-covered ruins and plenty of quieter corners to explore. Give yourself at least a couple of days rather than trying to cram it all into one morning.
Is Cambodia cheap to travel?
Yes. Cambodia is one of the more budget-friendly destinations in Southeast Asia, with cheap hostels, local food and affordable transport. Tourist attractions, tours and nicer accommodation can push the budget up, but it's still easy to travel around without spending a fortune.
Can you use US dollars in Cambodia?
Yes, US dollars are widely accepted, particularly in tourist areas, hotels and restaurants. However, Cambodian Riel is used for smaller purchases and you'll often receive change in riel. Carrying a mixture of both is the easiest option.
What is the best way to get around Cambodia?
Buses and minibuses are the easiest way to travel between Cambodia's main destinations, with plenty of affordable routes connecting places like Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang and Kampot. Tuk-tuks are perfect for getting around towns, while boats can be useful for reaching some of the islands and river destinations.
