Capri is an island off the Italian coast, in the bay of Naples. It is popular especially in the summer for its stunning landscapes, hip beaches and great gastronomy.
There are two main towns on the island of Capri. Capri Town is the busiest, and also the best place to stay if you are looking to experience a vibrant environment with a lively nightlife. Capri Town also has several trendy beach clubs and restaurants.
The other town on the island of Capri is Anacapri. While it also gets very crowded during the high season, it remains quieter than Capri Town and boasts a more laid-back vibe. From Anacapri, you can also hike to the highest point of the island, Monte Solaro. Be prepared for amazing views from up there. Anacapri is also relatively cheaper than Capri Town and, for that reason, can be a good option for budget travellers.
For their first time on the island, most visitors will arrive by boat in Marina Grande. Indeed, this is where the ferries and cruise boats dock. Apart from the port, there are a few bars, restaurants, and hotels. Marina Grande is also where visitors will find the largest sandy beach on the island and thus is a destination in itself.
Families will love the area of Pizzolungo where many natural wonders are located, such as the Grotta di Matermania and the Natural Arch. Many wealthy people have private villas in the neighbourhood, nestled in lush vegetation.
At this point, you may still feel confused about where to stay in Capri. But no need to worry, as I will now explore each neighbourhood one by one.

Final Thoughts On Where To Stay In Capri…
Capri is a charming island and a real natural gem to visit in Italy. However, it can get quite expensive and crowded during the summer, and sometimes finding great accommodation is a battle without knowing where to look.
My favourite place to stay in Capri is Capri Town, as it is the heart of the island’s social scene and where everything happens. There, my favourite place to stay is Guest House La Piazzetta, located near the most central square in town.
