Black Swan Hostel is my favourite hostel in Seville. Located at the centre of El Arenal, this hostel is a short walk to the city’s top attractions.
It has a relaxing garden patio, rooftop terrace and spacious rooms with balconies. There is also a full kitchen, common room, linens and Wi-Fi. They also have bigger beds than ya’ standard dorm that come with a light and plug – I’m all about that extra comfort!

This loft in the heart of Seville is the home away from home you didn’t know you needed. The home is spacious and the loft bedroom is epic. The decor is super modern and everything is kept spotless.
The host is incredible and takes time to make sure all the small details are taken care of to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It’s also family-friendly, with two bedrooms – one with a double and the other two singles. They also have a crib and highchair available for children. Tucked away in the centre of Seville is the El Arenal barrio. A smart and sophisticated residential district, El Arenal is most famous for its beautiful bullfighting ring which sits in the centre of the neighbourhood and the best place to stay in Seville for those on a budget.
Triana
Triana is a neighbourhood brimming with magic and myth. The city’s former gypsy quarter, Triana is famous for its whitewashed houses, colourful tiles, and its lively and vibrant markets. It is a maze of narrow cobblestone streets and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful barrios in Seville.
Macarena
Just north of the city centre, the Macarena neighbourhood is one of the coolest barrios in Seville. This area of the city manages to seamlessly blend the old and the new.
Los Remedios
Los Remedios is a neighbourhood located south of Triana and across the river from the city centre. One of the most modern barrios in the city, Los Remedios is a residential neighbourhood known for its striking architecture, wide boulevards, and it’s scores of fashionable shops and boutiques. It’s the best area to stay in Seville for families.

The most popular neighborhood in Seville, Santa Cruz is packed with iconic places to visit, including the Real Alcazar and the Seville Cathedral. It’s also home to tapas bars, flamenco joints, and stunning cobblestone streets.
Head west to El Arenal, a charming neighborhood that is famously the home of Real Maestranza, the oldest bullfighting ring in all of Spain. The neighborhood buzzes with activity and is a top destination for tourists.

The Barrio de Santa Cruz is the former Old Jewish quarter of Seville. This area of the city centre is characterized by winding cobblestone streets, sprawling squares, white-washed buildings, and orange tree-lined streets.

Tucked away in the centre of Seville is the El Arenal barrio. A smart and sophisticated residential district, El Arenal is one of the busiest neighborhoods in Seville. The neighborhood buzzes with activity and is a top destination for tourists.
El Arenal, like most of Seville, is brimming with history. The neighborhood is in what was once the walled centre of Seville. Today, you can find the Tower of Gold, the Tower of Silver and the Abd el Aziz Tower are still standing. You can also find the Postigo del Aceite (Gate of Oil), one of the dates through the ancient walls.

Just north of the city centre, the Macarena neighborhood is one of the coolest barrios in Seville. This area of the city manages to seamlessly blend the old and the new. It’s where you will find the remaining sections of the original Moorish city wall as well as modern commercial buildings, trendy shops, and hip restaurants.
Within Macarena, you’ll find the small barrio of La Alameda. It is one of the most up-and-coming areas of the city and is a hit with hipsters, trendsetters, and Seville’s most fashionable citizens.

This hostel is in a great location in Macarena, in the Alameda da Hercules area. If you’re up for some sightseeing, you’re super close to Omnium Santorum Church and the Feria Street food market. There are some pretty epic nightlife spots, bars and restaurants nearby. So you’ll be able to eat and drink your way around town like a true Sevillian local.
Each room in the hostel is fully equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and an ensuite. The rooms fit between four and eight guests, each with a separate locker. The hostel also has some great shared spaces to mix and mingle with other travellers.

Perhaps it is most famously known as the site of Seville’s annual Feria de Abril. One of the largest celebrations in Spain, the colourful and fun Feria de Abril attracts hundreds of revellers to the city each spring.
Monte Carmelo Hotel | Best Hotel in Los Remedios
Enjoy three-star comfort and a central location at the Monte Carmelo Hotel. Set in Los Remedios, this hotel is close to bars, and restaurants, and is a short walk from the Real Alcazar. The rooms are sleek and modern and so nice to come home to after a day of exploring. The buffet breakfast in bangin’ here too.

Ok, I’ll hold my hands up and admit Hotel Alfonso XIII is just outside of Los Remedios. But it is pure luxury and an epic place to stay if you want to visit Los Remedios. The hotel is STUNNING and offers an outdoor swimming pool, gym and a garden courtyard with a fountain.
It’s just a 20-minute walk across the bridge to Los Remedios. It is also super close to Alcazar, the Cathedral, Plaza de Espana, shopping and restaurants as well as the waterfront.
Triana Backpackers | Best Hostel in Los Remedios
Just next door to Los Remedios is Triana. Home to Triana Backpackers is a beautiful and historic hostel located in Seville. It has a common room, a rooftop terrace, hammocks and a hot tub. There is a FREE breakfast included – I’m such a sucker for a free breakfast and this one is gooood.
It’s just a 15-minute walk from the Cathedral and Alcazar, this hostel is surrounded by bars, Terrazas, shops and main attractions.
Charming family flat | Best Airbnb in Los Remedios
This 3-bedroom apartment is very spacious and will accommodate up to 8 guests! Two of the bedrooms have double beds, and the third bedroom is quite large, with three single beds, so it is perfect for a big family.
A block away from the metro, and there are many bus stops nearby. So, if you haven’t rented a car in Spain, that shouldn’t be a problem. Located on a really quiet residential street, in a non-touristy neighborhood, where you can find many supermarkets, little stores and traditional bars.

Final Thoughts on Where to Stay in Seville, Spain
Seville is an incredible city. With its rich history, imaginative cuisine, incredible architecture and stunning natural landscapes – it’s no wonder Seville is Andalusía’s most popular travel destination.
Just to recap, Barrio Santa Cruz is my number one choice for where to stay in Seville if you’re visiting for the first time. Not only is it home to Seville’s most famous landmarks and attractions, but it’s where you’ll find the best tapas and most passionate, exciting flamenco.
If you’re still feeling a bit unsure about where to stay, I’d suggest locking in my favourite hotel: the Exe Sevilla Macarena. You’ll be able to enjoy four-star luxury at a fraction of the price and be right in the centre of the action.
For those on a tighter travel budget, my vote for the best hostel goes to Black Swan Hostel Sevilla. With its relaxing garden patio and rooftop terrace it is a great place to meet other travellers.
