Motorbiking in Pakistan is incredible, but it’s not the easiest thing to arrange if you don’t have your own bike. Plus: distances. The Karakoram and Hindu Kush mountain ranges are absolutely massive, and road blockages are common, so for many, it really does make sense to explore the region on a supported tour.

Fellow adventurer, Alex Reynolds from Lost With Purpose, first arrived in Pakistan in 2016, and was another early pioneer in putting this severely underrated nation on the backpacker map. Sometime around 2019, Alex tried her hand at motorbiking for the first time and has barely been able to get off one since then. What to Pack for Pakistan
Here are a few things I always bring when I’m headed to bike in Pakistan:
Travel Security Belt
This is a regular looking belt with a concealed pocket on the inside – you can hide up to twenty notes inside and wear it through airport scanners without it setting them off.
Microfiber Towel
Hostel towels are scummy and take forever to dry. Microfibre towels dry quickly, are compact, lightweight, and can be used as a blanket or yoga mat if need be.
Petzl Actik Core Headlamp
A decent head torch could save your life. If you want to explore caves, unlit temples, or simply find your way to the bathroom during a blackout, a headtorch is a must.
‘Monopoly Deal’
