      FIRST TIME IN SIESTA KEY

      Siesta Beach

By far the most popular destination on Siesta Key, Siesta Beach (and neighbouring Sarasota Beach) is a fantastic destination for first-time visitors. Both beaches are packed with local restaurants and water sports providers. It’s quite a small neighbourhood, so you’ll always be within walking distance of the action.

      Sarasota

We know Sarasota is a different destination entirely, but it’s only a short drive from Siesta Key, meaning you can visit the stunning beaches of the island as often as you want.

      FOR FAMILIES
      Crescent Beach Siesta Key
      FOR FAMILIES

      Crescent Beach

Just south of Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach is a much calmer neighbourhood. The white sand beaches and stunning panoramas are unspoiled by the tourist crowds here. This makes it an excellent destination to kick back and relax.

Located on Florida’s west coast, Siesta Key is one of the most beautiful beaches in the state and perhaps even the entire USA. The small town is very close to Sarasota, which is why you’ll see it mentioned quite a bit in this Siesta Key accommodation guide.

Staying in Sarasota is a great alternative for those visiting the area on a budget. While Siesta Key hotels are on the cheaper end for Florida, they can still get pretty pricey during peak season.

Sarasota vacation rentals are often budget friendly, but you’ll also find your fair share of tropical beach resorts and beachfront hotels to choose from. It also has a livelier Downtown area with an endless assortment of bars, boutiques, and restaurants to choose from. You’ll also find plenty of Florida Airbnbs in and around the area.

That’s not to say Siesta Key doesn’t have some great bars and boutiques in its own right! Siesta Beach is the most popular tourist area on the island – and the Siesta Key Village area is part of its downtown core.

For first-time visitors, this is the best place to enjoy all the amenities whilst soak up the good vibes. It also has the beach with the most facilities, so can start checking off your Florida packing list! Many hosts and hotels even provide complimentary beach chairs which trust me, you’re going to want to have.

On the other hand, what about those that would rather stay somewhere quieter? Crescent Beach is right in the middle of the island and comes with unspoiled beaches. Many of these are privately owned, giving you some calm away from the tourist crowds. It is connected to the mainland by a bridge, making this a popular option for those looking for family friendly hotels.

Still undecided on where to stay in Siesta Key? It’s pretty hard to choose, so we’ve decided to make it even easier for you. Below, we have included more extensive guides to each area. We’ve also written about our favorite accommodations and activities in each!
