If you have a car, you should know it’s pretty easy to get around this park. This is extremely useful if you’re planning on doing a lot of looping around, and especially if you want to go hiking in Grand Teton!

This is the heart of the tourism industry in the region, so if you don’t have a car, this is your best chance to visit both Grand Teton and Yellowstone.
If you’re visiting in the summer, you will be charmed by the verdant scenery surrounding the town. Right in the heart of the national park, Colter Bay is where you get to wake up to laid back vibes and stunning scenery every morning! Colter Bay Village is a large resort next to the lake, but there are plenty of great accommodation options within a couple of minutes drive of the area.
For families, Colter Bay is one of the most peaceful neighborhoods in the area. Jackson and Teton Village can get very busy during the peak season, but visitor numbers in the park itself are limited, so you can enjoy the chill vibes year-round.

This two-star lodge is as basic as it gets, but with great customer reviews, it is a great home for your time among the Tetons. The best hiking trails are a couple of minutes away from the property, and the lake is just outside your front door. Alongside barbecue and picnic areas, there’s also a great restaurant on-site.
Jackson Lake Lodge | Luxury Hotel Near Colter Bay
Need a bit of an upgrade? We also love this gorgeous four-star lodge! It’s about two minutes away from Colter Bay and comes with unbeatable views of Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Lake Lodge comes with barbecue facilities and a sun terrace, as well as canoe hire and taster sessions for the whole family. There’s also a great fusion restaurant on-site with an extensive cocktail menu.
Serene Cabin | Family Hideaway near Colter Bay
Nestled in a horse farm just outside Colter Bay, this secluded gem is excellent for sampling a slice of local culture. Guests are given access to a couple of bicycles and six (!) kayaks. It can sleep up to 12 guests but is also popular with smaller families heading to the area. They only take long term bookings, but this would be the perfect summer hideaway.
