England Travel FAQs
What's the best way to travel around England?
Trains are usually the easiest way to get between major cities, while buses and coaches can be cheaper. If you're heading into rural areas or want to explore the coast and countryside, hiring a car gives you much more freedom.
What should I pack for a trip to England?
Layers and a waterproof jacket are your best friends. England's weather can change quickly, even in summer, so it's worth being prepared for a bit of everything. Comfortable walking shoes are also a must if you're planning to explore the cities, countryside or coast.
What should you eat in England?
Forget what you think you know about British food. Start with a proper Sunday roast, fish and chips, a full English breakfast and a steak and ale pie, then work your way through regional specialities like Cornish pasties and Yorkshire pudding. And yes, a cream tea is basically mandatory.
What's the deal with jam and cream on a scone?
Ah, the great British scone debate. Which should go on first, jam or cream? In Devon, it's cream first, then jam. In Cornwall, it's jam first, then cream. Pick a side and prepare to defend it. IYKYK.
